Ão wins UPBEAT Best New Talent Award 2026

We are thrilled to announce that Ão has won the UPBEAT Best New Talent Award 2026, a prestigious European award celebrating outstanding emerging artists and unique musical voices from across the continent.

The jury: “Blending electronica, art pop, saudade and alternative Latin, Ão creates a genre-defying sound. The Belgian quartet evokes many feelings at once—beauty, pain, wonder—something you’ve never quite heard before.”

As part of the award, Ão will perform at Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV), one of Spain’s leading music industry gatherings, and will receive additional international promotional support. More info follows.

The award marks another important milestone in the band’s growing European journey and follows the recent success of their acclaimed album “Malandra”.
