Aghogho new single ‘I Wasn't Made For You’

EP 'Bold In Mystery' set for release on November 20

Aghogho means ‘child of God’ in Nigerian and is the moniker of 23-year-old Antwerp artist Caro Abutoh. Her first single, I Want You To Feel It, was warmly received at home and also found its way abroad, with support from leading French radio stations FIP, France Inter and Radio France Internationale (RFI). The icing on the cake: a spot on the KEXP.

New single ‘I Wasn’t Made For You’, wrapped in a soft, intimate neo-soul blanket, was inspired by All About Love by pioneering American writer and feminist thinker bell hooks.
Caro: “All About Love really struck a chord with me, especially the idea that a lack of love early in life can shape the way you give and receive love later on. My song is about pushing away someone you love because you don’t believe you deserve that love. But ultimately, it’s a song about hope — about knowing that, despite everything, you’ll be okay.”

On November 20, Aghogho will release her new EP ‘Bold In Mystery’, which she’ll present both at home and abroad, including showcases at Nürnberg Pop in Germany and Viva Sounds in Gothenburg, Sweden — two festivals where several Mayway artists have previously kicked off their international adventures. On November 11, Aghogho will also open Brussels showcase festival festival Fifty Lab at Ancienne Belgique.
